Do Judge a Test by its Cover

چکیده
Abstract Property-based testing uses randomly generated inputs to validate high-level program specifications. It can be shockingly effective at finding bugs, but it often requires generating a very large number of do so. In this paper, we apply ideas from combinatorial , powerful and widely studied methodology, modify the distributions our random generators so as find bugs with fewer tests. The key concept is coverage which measures degree given set tests exercises every possible choice values for small combination input features. its “classical” form, only applies programs whose have particular shape—essentially, Cartesian product finite sets. We generalize richer world algebraic data types by formalizing class sparse test descriptions based on regular tree expressions. This new definition inspires novel thinning algorithm improving generators, requiring many catch bugs. evaluate two case studies, typed evaluator System F terms Haskell compiler, showing significant improvements in both.

Don’t judge the myocardium by its cover
A 51-year-old female presenting with fatigue demonstrated cardiac enlargement on her chest x-ray. The electrocardiogram was normal (Fig. 1). However, echocardiography suggested asymmetrical hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging was performed for further evaluation. The cine images showed a maximum wall thickness of 28mm at the mid anterolateral segment (Fig. 2a; ...

متن کاملDon't judge a book by its cover: don't judge stenosis severity solely by intravascular ultrasound.
In this issue of Circulation: Cardiovascular Interventions, Kang et al1 compare intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) parameters against a gold standard of fractional flow reserve (FFR) for evaluating intermediate stenoses. Their work adds another piece of evidence to a debate whose outcome is fundamentally changing interventional cardiology. As encapsulated by the title of the “FFR versus Angiograph...
متن کاملShould we judge a mask by its cover?
BACKGROUND A table of the approximate ranges of inspired oxygen delivered at given oxygen flow rates is often given on the packaging of oxygen masks. A study was carried out to check the inspired oxygen concentration given by one of the new masks, which has been designed to be used with or without the Venturi attachment as a result of the proposal to use it without the Venturi attachment as a g...

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS; also called motor neuron disease) is a devastating medical condition that progressively robs patients of their ability to move, speak and eventually breathe. At present, many physicians are hesitant to propose tracheostomy and respiratory support in the terminal phase of ALS. In accordance with the principle of patient autonomy, physicians should respect the ...
